Picking up a brand-new Tesla Model 3 is exciting. Everything feels clean, minimal, and futuristic—but you’ll quickly realize it arrives pretty bare. There are no all-weather floor mats, no organizers, and very little protection for the surfaces you’ll be touching every single day.
That’s exactly why we decided to outfit our new Model 3 with the accessories we think every owner should consider first. Some of these upgrades improve organization, some protect your investment, and a few simply make living with your Tesla much more enjoyable.

1. All-Weather Floor Mats
If there’s one accessory every Tesla owner should buy immediately, it’s a quality set of floor mats.
The factory carpet looks great on delivery day, but it doesn’t take long before dirt, sand, and debris begin collecting—especially if you travel or drive in wet weather. After just one road trip, it was already obvious our carpet needed protection.
A good TPU floor mat offers several advantages:
- Protects the factory carpet from mud, snow, and spills
- Cleans easily with a quick rinse
- Fits perfectly without sliding around
- Gives the interior a more finished look
Installing them takes only a few minutes, and they’re one of the highest-value upgrades you can make.
2. Emergency Tire Inflator & Jack Pad Set
These aren’t accessories you’ll use every day—but when you need them, you’ll be glad they’re already in your car.
The best part is that everything is compact, has a carrying case, and stores neatly in the trunk, ready whenever it’s needed.
3. Center Console Organization
Tesla’s minimalist interior looks fantastic, but the storage compartments can become cluttered quickly.
Adding organizers instantly creates dedicated spaces for:
- Sunglasses
- Wallets
- Charging cables
- Keys
- Small accessories
We also installed an armrest cover to keep it clean without sacrificing the clean factory appearance.
The center armrest is one of the highest-touch areas inside the vehicle.
Installing a matching armrest cover helps:
- Prevent scratches
- Reduce wear
- Keep the interior looking newer
- Blend seamlessly with the OEM materials
Once installed, it’s almost impossible to tell it wasn’t factory equipment.
The organizers simply drop into place and look like they came from the factory. Say goodbye to shuffling though an abyss and hello to finding everything right where you put it.
4. Matte Screen Protector
Tesla’s touchscreen is beautiful, but it’s also a fingerprint magnet.
Before installation, we cleaned the display thoroughly using a microfiber towel and glass cleaner, followed by the included alcohol wipes and dust removal tabs for a dust-free install.
We chose the matte version because it:
- Reduces glare
- Hides fingerprints
- Still maintains excellent display clarity
If you prefer the original glossy appearance, an HD Clear protector is another excellent option.
5. Dashboard Wrap
One of our favorite interior upgrades is wrapping the dashboard trim.
Instead of replacing interior pieces, a precision-cut dashboard wrap installs directly over the existing trim using alignment cuts that make installation beginner-friendly.
Benefits include:

- Protecting against scratches
- Matching other interior accents
- Easy DIY installation
Whether you prefer carbon fiber, matte finishes, or satin colors, it’s an easy way to transform the cabin.
6. Charge Port Wrap
This upgrade is mostly cosmetic—but it’s one of the most fun installs.
Tesla’s charge port automatically closes after about two minutes, turning the installation into a fun little challenge. While you can install everything before it closes, breaking the project into smaller sections often makes the process easier.
It’s a subtle customization that adds personality every time you plug in your vehicle.
7. Rear Trunk Ledge Paint Protection Film
The rear trunk ledge is one of the easiest places to scratch on any Tesla.
Loading groceries, luggage, strollers, or tools often means dragging items across this painted edge.
Installing a pre-cut Paint Protection Film (PPF) piece creates an invisible barrier against:
- Scratches
- Scuffs
- Loading damage
- Everyday wear
Installation is simple with slip solution, tack solution, and a squeegee – all included in the DIY kit. The film can be repositioned until it’s perfectly aligned before removing the water underneath.
Considering how often this area gets abused, this might be one of the smartest protection upgrades available.
8. FSD Camera Protection Film
Tesla’s exterior cameras are constantly exposed to road debris.
We installed protection on the B-pillar camera, with plans to add protection to the front and fender cameras as well.
These small pieces of Paint Protection Film help shield the camera housings from:
- Rock chips
- Surface scratches
- Everyday wear
They’re nearly invisible once installed but can help preserve the finish around one of the vehicle’s most noticeable features.
Future Upgrades
Even after installing all of these accessories, there are still a few exciting projects planned.
