After buying and driving more than a dozen Teslas over the past six years, we decided to switch things up — and we didn’t just pick any SUV. We bought a Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Here’s why.

1. The Perfect Balance Between Electric and Adventure

After years of all-electric driving, going back to gas wasn’t appealing. But the Wrangler 4xe offered something different — the freedom of a hybrid with the thrill of adventure.

The 4xe’s plug-in hybrid setup means short commutes can be driven fully electric. With a range of about 20 miles on battery, it’s enough for daily drives to work and back. We even have chargers both at home and the office, so refueling with electricity fits perfectly into our lifestyle.

While the Wrangler isn’t known for aerodynamics — it’s basically a Lego brick on wheels — the hybrid setup adds stability and reduces fuel stops. The extra 800 pounds from the battery actually helps the ride feel a bit more planted, something that makes it easier to transition from an EV to a Jeep.

2. It’s a Lifestyle, Not Just a Vehicle

The Wrangler isn’t about efficiency — it’s about experience. Within minutes of owning it, we took off the top and felt what Jeep ownership is all about. Whether it’s cruising around Chattanooga on a sunny day, climbing up Lookout Mountain, or planning weekend off-road trips with friends and family, this Jeep was built for moments.

We went with the Sport package, which still comes with plenty of features and off-road capability. The ease of transforming it from a closed SUV to an open-air adventure rig was a huge selling point. It’s the kind of car that invites you to explore, unplug, and enjoy the drive again — something you don’t get with most modern EVs.

3. Expanding the DIY Wrap Club Mission

When we started this journey back in 2018, our goal was simple: help Tesla owners customize, protect, and maintain their cars through high-quality DIY kits. Over time, we built an entire community around that mission — people who love personalizing their rides.

But after surveying our customers, one trend stood out: a huge number of Tesla owners also drive Jeep Wranglers. That insight lit a spark.

The Wrangler is the most customizable vehicle in the world. From wrapped hoods and hinges to PPF protection kits and wild vinyl graphics, the possibilities are endless. It’s the perfect next step for DIY Wrap Club — a new canvas for creativity.

We’ve already been working quietly behind the scenes for months on Jeep-specific wrap kits and PPF protection. From upgraded rock guard protection to full hood and fender kits, we’re gearing up to launch products designed specifically for the Wrangler community.

Looking Ahead

This isn’t just a new car for us — it’s a symbol of where DIY Wrap Club is headed. We’re excited to join the Jeep community, bring our passion for DIY customization to a whole new group of enthusiasts, and continue our mission to make protecting and styling your vehicle easy, fun, and affordable.

So here’s to the next adventure — electric or not.
